I find it very interesting that new platform projects (ADA, EOS, NEO) are Proof of Stake, but for some reason we hang onto the POW cryptocurrencies of the past. Why is this?

Are the early adopters keeping the prices propped up of Bitcoin and Litecoin and fooling everyone into thinking that Proof of Stake is inferior? Spoiler alert, Proof of Stake has its merits and is likely the better alternative for scalability and energy consumption. Straight from the [whycardano.](https://whycardano.org/)com

“Using proof of stake for a cryptocurrency is a [hotly debated design choice](https://download.wpsoftware.net/bitcoin/pos.pdf), however because it adds a mechanism to introduce secure voting, has more capacity to scale, and permits more exotic incentive schemes, we decided to embrace it.”

This is why I’m a staunch supporter of VeriCoin, one of the oldest Proof of Stake currencies around. Running the wallet on a computer earns daily interest, and it’s SO much less wasteful than the miners I had running which are off now since they no longer are profitable.

90% of donations to SENS foundation in 2017 was from cryptocurrencies

I didn’t know this, but from this link: https://www.sens.org/outreach/press-releases/srf-2017-year-end-fundraiser-achieves-over-5-million-in-donations

$4.4M from the $5M donations to SENS was from Bitcoin + Vitalik.

This is just crazy, there are so many billionaires and they just want more money, and don’t understand that it doesn’t matter how much they have if they drop dead in 30 years.

Do you really have to believe so much in Bitcoin to be a believer in fixing damages in aging?

Being a pluralist I just want the best cryptocurrencies to rise to dominance to bring about the goals most of us have in common. Having multiple choices between cryptocurrencies is an extension of decentralization itself. Freedom of choice is critical for true market competition.
